What is not good for us is not good for our dog or for the environment. Try feeding your dog with organic veggies and antibiotic, hormone-free meat and dairy. Choose USDA organic dog food that complies with the same standards as certified-organic human food. The FDA doesn’t totally regulate pet food industry. Ingredients such as euthanized pets from animal shelters and animal waste like cow feces that are collected from large agri-business operations, are all permitted in dog food. It is the same case with mercury-contaminated seafood that has been judged unfit for human consumption. You can also buy the book of Dr. Pitcairn's “New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats”where you can learn more about what is really inside pet food and how to feed your dog based on a natural diet with supplements. Lola, our Chief Product Tester, has great recommendations on eco friendly and healthy dog food that you might want to check out here. If you would like to report complaints about pet food go to the FDA
