It is always inspiring to meet people who are passionate about their beliefs and projects and who fight with all their energy for them. I find particularly moving when this passion is about giving unconditional time and love to others. I'm spending the holidays in Mexico City and ran into an amazing, intense, compassionate and even funny woman who dedicates all his spare time and more, as an independent dog rescuer. She lives in an apartment with an average of 15 rescued dogs searching every day for potential pet adopters. The greatest thing is that she is totally strict about who she gives her "children" to. She screens them over and over again to make sure they are the best fit for every particular dog. She has a very clear idea of what a responsible and loving dog owner should be. She understands that dogs have different personalities and needs, for example, some of them cannot be happy in an environment with children and others need young kid's energy. She is always looking for dogs and pets that are being neglected or abused in any way by their owners or keepers. "There's this abused dog at a tire and auto repair shop that I have been trying to rescue, I will not stop until I do, I have promised it to him", she told me in a strong and totally convinced voice. She liked Earthbark's idea about raising not only eco friendly awareness to pick up dog's poop, but also about being responsible dog owners in regards to the care and love dogs need. I hope she rescues the dog at the auto repair shop! If you live in Mexico City (or go there a lot) you should try to see if you find her in Parque Mexico! I would love to meet her!
